Who we are...
Wrenwood Renovations Ltd is a successful family run building company founded in 2007 by Simon and Melanie Osborne, having over 35 years of experience of working together in property.
From his early twenties, Simon ran a successful business, building extensions and bespoke new homes. The high quality work and attention to detail quickly built him up a list of loyal customers and clients. Though it was when renovating their tiny 200-year-old cottage that he developed his love of old buildings and started to work alongside his wife, Melanie, a trained artist potter, combining their skills and talents.
In 2000 they purchased a derelict barn that proved to be an inspiration and turned their focus to designing and converting barns creating characterful, unique homes. Barn conversions have since been a major part of the business.
In 2016 with their son, Rue, joining the company, Simon and Melanie decided to fulfill a long held desire to work with their local community to provide accommodation to care companies supporting youngsters with Down’s syndrome and abused children. They have since bought and converted several properties, two of which are run by a charity helping the homeless.
Since 2013 when planning laws changed to allow once again, the residential occupancy of agricultural buildings, they were able to return to their passion of converting barns and have continued to grow this area of the business gaining a reputation for being the go-to ‘barn people’ with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of converting these beautiful, but challenging buildings.
Simon and Melanie have a wide experience of both modern and traditional buildings and their work with both has ensured that they know how to blend new with old, to retain the essence and character of the original structures, whilst creating warm and welcoming homes with all expected mod cons.
The couple are passionate about preserving the natural environment, providing valuable services to the community as well as exceptional quality for their buyers.
As part of an ongoing commitment to take responsibility and help protect the environment, reclaimed wood is used wherever possible, and in 2003 26 acres of broadleaved English woodland was planted with a view to one day being an ancient forest to be enjoyed by all.
