Surrounding Area

Located close to the border of Devon and Cornwall, two of the country's most beautiful and unspoilt counties, the whole of the area is rich in natural beauty from the stunning, rugged coast with its small secluded coves and long sandy beaches perfect for walking, swimming, surfing and kite surfing, the beautiful Tamar and Roadford lakes, with water sports, fishing and boating to the wild heights of Dartmoor and Bodmin.

There are lots of local woods, great to walk the dog or just soak up nature. There are both coniferous, and native deciduous forests such as the nearby Statfold wood, managed by The Woodland Trust, just a stone’s throw from Hollacombe.

The National Trust's Dunsland House is 3 miles distant and open for wanderings in its ancient parkland. Marsland nature reserve makes for a worthwhile visit and joins the stunning South West Coast Path near Welcombe cove.

The whole area, with its beautiful coastline and areas of outstanding natural beauty thrives on tourism yet has a strong vibrant community at its heart.
